Huawei Malaysia today has announced that its latest flagship tablet, the 2022 12.6-inch MatePad Pro, will be available in Malaysia this Friday on 15 December 2022. Apart from the larger display size, the new slate also features a high refresh rate, Huawei Sound enhanced speakers, a refreshed design, and more.
As implied by its name, Huawei’s latest high-end tablet offers a large TUV Rheinland certified 12.6-inch OLED display with 90% screen-to-body ratio, 2560 x 1600 pixels resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, 1.07 billion colours, P3 colour gamut, 600 nits peak brightness, and multi-touch support. Also onboard are four microphones and eight Huawei Sound powered speakers surrounding the entire device.
In terms of the so-called refreshed design, the only significant and noticeable change is actually the camera bump on the back of the tablet. Instead of a circular island like on the MatePad Pro 11 that launched back in July, Huawei has decided to go with a vertical rectangular one for the newer model. Measurements-wise, the device comes in at 286.5 (h) x 184.7 (w) x 6.5 (d) mm, and weighs approximately around 609 grams.

Under the hood of the Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 features a Kirin 9000E chipset which comes with a Mali-G78 MP22 GPU, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of internal storage space. Additionally, powering the tablet is a battery with a massive capacity of 10,050 mAh that supports both wired and wireless fast charging at 40 W and 27 W respectively, as well as 10 W reverse wireless charging.
Next up is the tablet’s imaging capabilities, where found on its back is a triple camera setup which consists of a 13 MP primary, an 8 MP ultra-wide, and a 3D depth sensor. Meanwhile, found in front is a lone 8 MP selfie camera that comes with the Apple Centerstage-like FollowCam function for video calls or vlogging.
As mentioned earlier, the new 2022 Huawei MatePad 12.6 is scheduled to be released in Malaysia this Friday. The tablet will only be available in one colourway, Golden Black, and is priced at RM 4,299. Those interested may order it through Huawei’s official website and official online stores on Shopee and Lazada.
