As part of Garmin’s battery life focused smartwatch lineup, the new Instinct 2 series – like its predecessor – comes with a monochrome, sunlight-visible, transflective memory-in-pixel displays which are designed to be energy efficient. Even though the watches lack the ability to display colour, Garmin still offers users with a variety of customisable watch faces, including some new designs that are exclusive to the Asian region.

Both Instinct 2 models and their respective variants are equipped with a fiber-reinforced polymer casing, QuickFit compatible straps, multi-satellite positioning support (GPS, GLONASS and Galileo), Bluetooth connectivity, Android and iOS compatibility, and are rated at 10ATM in terms of water resistance. They also come with phone-to-watch notifications and alerts, a variety of sensors including heart rate and blood oxygen levels, as well as numerous built-in health and workout features, such as sleep monitoring, women’s health monitoring and so on. Meanwhile, exclusively available on the Tactical Edition of the watches is the Stealth Mode and Kill Switch feature that are meant to aid military operatives hide their presence in the field.
