Normally, you’d associate TikTok with short videos online. But the company also has an e-commerce platform aptly called TikTok Shop. And it looks like this lesser known part of the brand is coming to Malaysia. This is reminiscent of the TikTok Kitchen from late last year.
Part of the charm of TikTok Shop, if you can call it that, is that you can buy stuff while you watch videos on the same app. It will also make use of the same search function within the app, pushing visibility of items up if they have a similar name with a popular video. Users who also have a shop can be identified with a special icon on their profile.
If you do have a TikTok shop, you can offer your own discounts and promotions on the things you sell. The company will also be providing free shipping. For buyers, you’ll get to choose between two delivery options. One is Ship by TikTok, where deliveries are done by the company’s logistics partner. The other is Ship by Seller, where the seller determines the courier.
