Samsung Malaysia has officially announced that the new Galaxy Tab S7 FE is now locally available. As you may recall from its global launch that we covered back in May, the tablet was revealed to come in two configurations: a Snapdragon 750G version with 5G capability, and a Snapdragon 778G model with Wi-Fi only connectivity. For its local release, the company has confirmed that we’ll only be getting the latter.
To recap, the FE is a more affordable variant of the brand’s current generation Tab S7 flagship tablet line-up. It is equipped with a 12.4-inch TFT LCD panel with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels, and dual AKG-tuned speakers with Dolby Atmos support. On the back of the device is an 8MP main camera, while housed in the side bezel of its display is a 5MP selfie camera. It comes with an included S-Pen, and is also compatible with Samsung’s detachable Book Cover Keyboard accessory.
Driving the new Galaxy Tab S7 FE is the aforementioned Snapdragon 778G chipset, which is paired together with RAM capacity of up to 6GB and an internal storage capacity of up to 128GB. Additionally, there’s an option to expand its storage further at up to 1TB via microSD. Other than that, the tablet also features Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi Direct, and Bluetooth 5.0 support.
The FE variant comes with a massive 10,090mAh battery that can last up to 13 hours of video playback on a full charge, according to Samsung. Complementing this is its 45W fast charging capability via USB-C, which is claimed to be able to top-up the tablet to 100% in just 190 minutes.
The new Galaxy Tab S7 FE is now available for purchase in Malaysia via the official Samsung web store, physical stores, and authorised retailers. The tablet’s 4GB + 64GB configuration is priced at RM1,899, while the 6GB + 128GB version is priced at RM2,199. As for colour options, the FE is available in Mystic Black, Mystic Silver, Mystic Green, and Mystic Pink.
As a special promotion celebrating the Tab S7 FE’s local launch, those purchasing the new tablet from now until 31 October 2021 are entitled to receive free gifts from Samsung while stocks last. Specifically, each purchase of the 4GB + 64GB version will receive a complimentary Book Cover for the tablet, while each purchase of the 6GB + 128GB configuration will also receive the same Book Cover as well as a free Samsung Smart Keyboard Trio 500.
