The game called Alan Wake was first released all the way back in May 2010, making it a really old game now. Whispers on the internet suggests a remaster is in the works for the decade-old title. And it looks to be coming out soon, according to listings on an online retailer.
More specifically, Rakuten Taiwan had listed Alan Wake Remastered for the PS4, PS5 and both generations of Xbox, with a 5 October release date. Links to these listings were shared by Twitter user @Wario64, who is an active contributor to the scene with leak discoveries. That being said, these links have since been replaced, redirecting to other items, suggesting the original ones have been taken down.

Backing up the leaks is Daniel Ahmad, a Nico Partners analyst with a track record of sharing accurate gaming industry info in the past. He says that an official announcement for the Alan Wake Remastered will be coming sometime next week. And it’s not implausible, as Sony Interactive Entertainment also has a PlayStation Showcase scheduled for the same time window.
For a game that’s about a decade old (nine or 11 years, depending on your platform), it’s a tad surprising that it’s just getting a remaster and not a full on remake. Either way, we’ll find out more next week, if the rumour about the announcement is accurate.
