It’s only been a couple of days since OnePlus officially pulled back the curtains on the OnePlus 8T, a phone that sits between the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro. Rather than stop there, it now appears that the brand will also be announcing a Cyberpunk 2077 special edition of the phone, in collaboration with the game’s creator, CD Projekt Red.
News of the special edition Cyberpunk 2077 OnePlus 8T was first broken by the Russian game site, iXBT. Existence of the alleged phone was first made during a press conference by the brand, seemingly in Russia. Unsurprisingly, there is not a whole lot of information as to what we can expect from the phone, save for the fact that it will also be a limited edition device.
Based on prior experience with limited edition devices, it’s possible that the difference would be primarily cosmetic, with perhaps some additional software and skins in the phone’s OS. On that note, we won’t have to wait long until to find out. OnePlus reportedly said that the Cyberpunk 2077 OnePlus 8T will make its debut on 4 November, two weeks before the game’s official launch date.
CD Projekt Red’s (CDPR), the studio responsible for developing Cyberpunk 2077, originally planned on launching the game earlier in April this year, but delayed it till September, saying that it still needed to work out some issues in-game. The game was then delayed a second time, this time to its current launch date of 19 November.
