Following our recent report, OnePlus today has officially confirmed that the upcoming OnePlus Nord will be released in Malaysia. This confirmation was made through OnePlus Nord’s official Instagram for Malaysia as well as OnePlus’ own website.
Even though the first post on OnePlus Nord Malaysia’s Instagram page was published on 30 June, the page was made private and only a few hundred users were allowed to view its contents. When access to the page finally opened to the public today, it was accompanied by this post:
In addition to that, the description of the Instagram page also includes the link to the official page for OnePlus Nord that is specifically meant for Malaysia. Over there, the page showed a message from Carl Pei who is the co-founder of OnePlus and was in Malaysia just a few weeks before MCO started although we don’t know if that visit is related to today’s revelation.
Officially, the details behind OnePlus Nord have not yet been revealed to the world but initial information so far stated that the phone will be priced at under USD 500 (~RM 2138) and will also be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G processor.
The new phone will also feature “flagship camera” but of course, we all have to stay tuned for OnePlus Nord’s AR-based virtual launch event on 21 July to learn more about it.
(Thanks for the tips, Ben!)
