For the G-Shock watch fans in our audience, we hope you have a printer and plenty of paper around. Casio had recently released a free papercraft kit that allows you to create a model of their popular 1987 G-Shock DW-5600 watch.
According to the watchmaker, the model is scaled exactly as its real-life counterpart and would only require A4 size paper for the print. Typical for any papercraft replicas, it’s best to also have all the necessary tools to help you with the build, such as a utility knife, scissors, and glue.
The completed model is a near perfect replica of the DW-5600, sans the functional buttons and watchface – but you could actually fasten the strap if you wanted to. As for detailing, the kit features multiple layers and parts that give the model some depth and bumps like the actual watch, and it even includes details for its back.
Whether you want to craft this replica just for the sake of displaying or gifting it to your kids, is entirely up to you. Regardless, it could be a fun bit of activity to do in your free time especially if you’re a collector or fan of the G-Shock series.
