Spotify is officially launching a new subscription plan. Known as Spotify Premium Duo, the new plan is designed and specifically aimed at couples who live together but have different taste in music.
As per Spotify’s description, the new Premium Duo plan gives both individuals their own Premium account, but both accounts will be tied under one plan. To that end, the couple will only have to make one monthly payment of RM19.80 to enjoy all the benefits that Spotify Premium offers.
For the ardent Spotify Premium users, this of course includes ad-free, on-demand music, acquired from the streaming service’s massive 50 million track library, plus its one million podcast titles. The new subscription plan also introduces the new Duo Mix feature that is essentially a playlist that updates regularly with music tailored towards the kind of music the couple typically listen to.
Spotify Premium Duo is already available in Malaysia. For currently existing Premium users who wish to upgrade to the new plan for the sake of their partner or spouse, you can do so by visiting the “Accounts” and changing their subscription. Do note that even after the change, your account will remain unchanged and you should still have access to all your saved music, podcasts, playlists, and recommendation.
