Boost Integration To Samsung Pay App Now Official

Samsung Malaysia has confirmed its partnership with Axiata by officially announcing the integration of Boost e-wallet service to its Samsung Pay app on 21 May 2020. Interestingly, a “teaser” for this feature was first spotted by Lowyat.net forum user PJng and was also pointed out by regular tipster Kevin Ng TK.

The company stated that the Boost integration enables its users to easily conduct cashless payments with merchants and businesses without the need of owning a physical credit, debit, or prepaid card. On top of including the e-wallet functionality, Samsung Pay now includes loyalty card features allowing users to accumulate points for both services as well.

Other added conveniences for Boost users in Samsung Pay includes using QR codes to easily share bills for Premium Wallet owners, and also topping-up their accounts via any Visa, Mastercard and AMEX cards, or through online banking. Samsung said that users are ensured to have safe and secured cashless transactions, thanks to its Knox security system.

For Boost users who wish to use Samsung Pay, they will need to link both of their accounts – keep in mind that this also applies to non-Samsung smartphone users as well. First, install Samsung Pay on your device and then register or sign in to your Samsung Account. From there, register your fingerprint or iris and create a 4-digit PIN to secure your payments. You can then add Boost by registering for a new account or linking to your existing Boost Account.

Payments with Boost via Samsung Pay can be done in two methods. Transactions can be made by scanning a QR code provided by a merchant, or vice versa – by providing your QR code to the seller instead.

To commemorate the partnership, Samsung has also organised a launch promotion for Boost and Samsung Pay users. Throughout the period from 21 May to 30 June 2020, users will stand a chance to win a Samsung Galaxy Fold and other of the brand’s devices with a minimum spend of RM5 for each QR payment transaction made via the app and the Boost feature.

More information on the promotion can be found in the link to Samsung’s news release provided below.
