Smart location platform Tile is teaming up with Intel to provide its finding technology solution to PC original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). According to the company, this would enable Intel-powered laptop and notebook models to be findable in the event that it gets misplaced or lost.
Prior to this, Tile recently announced its first commercial laptop product in collaboration with HP back in January. The company’s current partnership with Intel would further solidify its expansion in the PC market to provide users with enhanced security by simplifying device tracking and recovery.
Tile and Intel solutions are expected to be made available later this year for OEM adoption. They claimed that PC users will be able find their laptop or notebook even when the device is in sleep mode.
Both teams are already working closely with PC manufacturers to determine the best smart location experience for their customers. Tile explained that 72-percent of PC users are said that the ability to locate their lost or misplaced laptops would be “very” or “extremely valuable.”
