Last Sunday, PDRM and MCMC have announced that members of the public can submit the details of their upcoming interstate journey into the Gerak Malaysia app by 5 May. To do that, they first need to update the app to the latest version which is v2.0.
However, the new update is only available for Android and Huawei devices for the time being. This is how the v.2 update looks like on Android devices:
What if you are using iPhone or iPad then? Despite MCMC’s earlier expectation that the update would be available just as Gerak Malaysia begins to accept travel details from the public yesterday, in the end the v2.0 update for iOS will only arrive on 7 May according to the app’s official website:
If the interstate travel schedule provided by PDRM dictates that you must travel on 7 May itself, it is still not an issue though since the app will not generate any no QR code or permission notification. All you need to do is just update the iOS app and enter your travel details before making your interstate journey.
