Rumours of the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 first began surfacing last month, after the outing of the Z Flip. At the time, the rumours already painted a pretty picture, especially when it suggested that it will come with an S Pen. New rumours have emerged, with more details on its display.

To start, the main display will feature a 7.59-inch flexible Dynamic AMOLED display. This will come with a resolution of 2213 x 1689 and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Also, the main display will have an Infinity-O punch hole cutout at the top right corner. This is consistent with the previous leak.

With the secondary display though, we start seeing some inconsistencies compared to last month’s leaks. The previous leak suggested that the outer display would come with an Infinity-V waterdrop notch. On the other hand, the new rumours indicate that the display on the outside will also feature an Infinity-O punch hole, at the centre. There are also new details, such as the measurements, resolution of the outer display, and refresh rate. These are 6.23 inches, 2267 x 819, and 60Hz, respectively.

On the subject of display, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will reportedly be using Ultra Thin Glass. The company will reinforce this with an improved layer of plastic. This will hopefully address concerns present with the current Galaxy Fold. The reinforcement will also help with scratch resistance. This definitely helps if it is to be used long term with an S Pen.

As for cameras, initial rumours indicated that it will be using the camera setup from the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. The current round of rumours suggest that the camera setup will come from the Galaxy S20 Plus instead. The battery will be between 4500mAh and 5000mAh.

Other details seem to come in pairs. Samsung is aid to be giving the Galaxy Fold 2  256GB and 512GB storage variants. There are also rumours of 4G and 5G models, as well as two chipsets in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 or an as-of-yet unannounced 865 Plus.

That’s a lot of information to come out at once, especially for what is ultimately unconfirmed information. That being said, assuming they end up being true, it’s good news all round, maybe with the cameras as the exception. But we’ll have to wait and see if they all end up being accurate when Samsung makes the official announcement.
