Digi announced that it is offering free insurance to its first 200,000 customers, with a special COVID-19 protection plan. With this, the company aims to provide a comprehensive short-term coverage to customers who may require hospitalisation and treatment during the current situation.
The insurance plan is also part of a joint partnership between Digi and Gibraltar BSN, which offers 30 days of free protection. “The coverage includes a Hospital Cash benefit of RM60 a day for hospitalisation due to Covid-19 and a death benefit of RM20,000,” said the company in their media release.
Digi adds that the plan is offered until 30 April 2020, or until all of the 200,000 free plans have been fully redeemed. Customers who may have missed the free offer can still subscribe to any of the company’s coverage packages, starting from as low as RM5 and up to RM20 for 30 days.
According to the telco, postpaid customers can pay the monthly premiums via their phone bills, while prepaid customers will have it deducted from their prepaid credit. All payments are enabled through debit and credit card. Additionally, non-Digi users can also apply for the insurance plan via EasyAdd’s official website.
