Lenovo is introducing new devices to its Legion line of gaming products. Among these include the Legion BoostStation eGPU enclosure and the Y740S laptop, which are expected to be released within the first half of 2020.

The Legion BoostStation supports graphic cards of up to 330mm in length, and includes a USB hub consisting of a pair of USB 3.1 ports and an Ethernet port. The new Lenovo eGPU features an aluminium build with a transparent side panel, and weighs just under 9.07kg. The company claims that the BoostStation is also 100 percent tool-free, offers super-fast charging, and supports mixed-reality (augmented and virtual reality) features.

The Legion BoostStation will be sold on its own, while Lenovo is also planning to release it as a bundle with a variety of graphic cards from NVIDIA and AMD. However, the company has not mentioned when the latter will be hitting markets for now.

Next up is the Lenovo Legion Y740S laptop. Although the company markets it as a gaming laptop, it actually lacks one important component that would classify the laptop as such: an internal graphics card. While that may sound like a bizarre thing to pull off, it’s believed that Lenovo aims to have the Y740S to be paired with the BoostStation in order to fulfill its gaming capabilities.

That aside, Lenovo claims the new laptop to be their “thinnest and lightest gaming laptop yet”, measuring at 0.58-inches thick and weighing at 1.9kg. The Y740S offers a choice of 1080p or 4K display at 15.6-inch with 60Hz, a 10th gen Intel Core i9 H-series processor, up to 32GB of RAM, storage of up to 1TB via PCIe SSD, and a battery capacity of 60Wh.

It also comes with two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, an SD card reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and two Thunderbolt 3 ports. The latter can be used to connect to the Legion BoostStation or other eGPU enclosures for enhanced graphics acceleration.

The Lenovo Legion BoostStation and Legion Y740S will be priced starting from US$249.99 (~RM1026) and US$1099.99 (~RM4515) respectively. Both devices will retail in May 2020, but their availability in Malaysia is not known just yet.
