Alleged AMD Radeon RX 5600M Benchmark Leaks; Looks On Par With NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060

Nearing the end of last year, the number of leaks and information surrounding AMD’s alleged Radeon RX 5600 GPU has gradually increased. The most recent leak comes in the form of a benchmark table from UL’s 3DMark benchmark program, listing down a “Generic VGA” being used in a notebook.

The table was spotted and posted by _rogame (@_rogame) on Twitter. The table shows the alleged Radeon RX 5600M’s benchmark performance side by side with notebook version of an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060. That said, there are a few points that are of interest, the first obviously being the GPU’s performance.

While it may not look outstanding, the performance number shows AMD’s unnamed GPU matching the RTX 2060. Give or take a few frames and points in each section. Another thing to bear in mind is the RTX 2060 it’s been pitted against; that’s a full-sized RTX 2060, and not the Max-Q variant.

Specs-wise, the chart shows that the alleged Radeon RX 5600M comes with 6GB GDDR6 memory. That more or less matches up to an earlier report about its desktop cousin. And while the table doesn’t list down the core and memory clocks, there’s a possibility that we could be looking at speeds upwards of 1600MHz for the core and 12Gbps for the memory.

Another point to take note of is the CPU paired with it; the table lists down and AMD Ryzen 7 4800H mobile processor. It’s the first time that confirmation (of sorts) for the upcoming Ryzen 4000 series CPUs has popped up. Further, it shows that the CPU will sport 8-cores, 16-threads, and has a boost clock of nearly 4.3GHz.

As always, there’s still no official word from AMD regarding the matter, so it’s best to manage your expectations until then. Having said that, CES 2020 is just around the corner and given the rumours that AMD and its partners are planning something big, we may not have to wait too long for news to arrive on our doorsteps.
