Las week, Epic Games gave away two games from its digital platform for free. This week, the creator of the Unreal game engine is now offering Nuclear Throne and Ruiner for free.
Starting off with Nuclear Throne, the game is a top-down roguelike dungeon crawler shooting game, presented in the retro-style, 8-bit graphics format. The game comes with two game modes; you can get to blasting in single-player mode or invite your friends along for a local co-op mode. In keeping with the retro-inspired theme, the difficulty gets harder as your progress until you eventually die, where the game will then reset.
RUINER, on the other hand, is a cyberpunk-themed, top-down shooter that features some really colourful and at times, blinding neon graphics. Story-wise, the game takes place in the year 2091 and puts you in the shoes of a “wired psychopath” attempting to rescue his kidnapped brother from an organisation known simply as Heaven.
So, if both these titles happen to tickle your fancy or pique your interest, remember to claim them on the Epic Games Store by 14 November.
