Kingston Technology (Kingston), the company renowned for its memory products and technology solutions, recently launched its new KC600 SATA SSD line. Like the majority of conventional SSDs on the current market, the KC600 comes in the standard 2.5-inch form factor and uses a SATA Rev 3.0 interface.

Where the KC600 sets itself apart is in the capacities it offers. Consumers have a choice of 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB. On that note, we should point out that the 256GB variant will have sequential read and write speeds of 550MB/s and 500MB/s respectively. While all variants from 512MB/s onwards have sequential read and write speeds of 550MBs and 520MB/s.

Regardless of the storage configurations, all variants run on the same 3D TLC NAND, SMI SM2259 memory controller, as well as the same AEX-XTS 256-bit encryption. They also have the same one million hour mean time before failure (MTBF) and 5-year warranty.

At the time of writing, the Kingston KC600 is available in 256GB and 512GB capacities. The company says that both the 1TB and 2TB variant will be available soon, although it did not specify an exact date.
