The Touch ‘n Go (TNG) eWallet is getting more and more accepted as a method of payment at physical shops and stores. It’s also expanding online, as the eWallet can now be used to shop on TaoBao and Tmall. This is done in partnership with Revenue Group Berhad and its revPAY mobile payment platform.
When shopping on either TaoBao or Tmall, you’ll revPAY as an additional payment option. Select it, and you’ll be able to select Touch ‘n Go as your method of payment. It’s important to note that this only works while you’re not browsing on your phone. This is because you’ll need your phone to scan the QR code as a form of verification.
There’s also another benefit to this, aside from there being another payment option. With TaoBao and the TNG eWallet both providing their own money-back guarantee, you essentially have two layers of protection when using this as your payment option.
The TNG eWallet as a payment option is already live on both TaoBao and Tmall. That said, the language barrier is still there for those who do not read Chinese.
