The OnePlus 7 Pro is many things for its maker. It’s the best and priciest phone made by OnePlus, and also the first phone by the company to get the Pro tag. It’s also got a pretty costly display. Unfortunately, that display is now causing problems to some OnePlus 7 Pro owners.
Android Police reports that some of the OnePlus 7 Pro phones have been registering phantom taps on its display. Leaving the phone idle with certain apps running will see the phone registering a touch on random locations on screen.
It’s not an issue that every OnePlus 7 Pro owner faces, based on the OnePlus forums. It also appeears that OnePlus is aware of the problem, among others listed in its forums. The company is currently trying to reproduce and fix this, but provided no timeline as to when it will happen.
If you’re an owner of a OnePlus 7 Pro, and have been facing issues with typing mistakes when sending text messages, you may be experiencing phantom taps yourself. It seems to be most frequently reproduced using CPU-Z, so you may want to download the app and test if it is indeed the case.
