Is anyone still playing Pokémon Go? For those of you who are, then you’ll probably be happy to know that there’s another Pokémon mobile game in the works. It’s scheduled to be released by March 2020, but beyond that, little else is known about it.
One of the few other things that is known is that it will be made by DeNA, a Japanese mobile developer. This, according to Wall Street Journal’s Takashi Mochizuki, means you can expect some very aggressive monetisation methods.
Do you think Pokémon Co. shares same philosophy with Nintendo when it comes to charging people? Think again, say people who have worked with Pokémon Co. before. pic.twitter.com/zGfdCthv9o

Mochizuki states that, according to people who have worked with the Pokémon Company before, the company is not as hesitant as Nintendo when it comes to monetising. For context, the Pokémon Company isn’t actually owned by Nintendo, but is actually a joint venture between Nintendo, Game Freak, and Creatures.
All that said, this upcoming game doesn’t even have a name yet, so it’s way too early to tell if it will have egregious monetisation mechanics. It may also be a Japan-exclusive game, for all we know.
