The OnePlus 7 series will be making its official appearance next week on 14 May. Malaysian fans of the OnePlus brand won’t have to wait too long to own the phone either, as the phones will be launching a week later in Malaysia on 21 May.

Information about the launch was confirmed by an invitation sent out by XianFeng Technology, the current sole distributor of the OnePlus brand in Malaysia. Like its global launch, the local launch is expected to unveil both the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro to the masses.

To recap, the OnePlus 7 series is the follow-up to last year’s OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T. This will also be the first time that OnePlus will be offering not just one, but two variants at launch.

The OnePlus is expected to look identical to the OnePlus 6T, while the Pro variant of the phone will reportedly have a notch-less, edge-to-edge bezel-less display, and go the way of the pop-up camera. Similar to the Vivo V15 or OPPO F11 Pro. Additionally, the display on the OnePlus 7 Pro is expected to have a refresh rate of 90Hz.

There’s still no official word regarding the specifications, but both OnePlus 7 devices are expected to run on the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Further, it’s also pretty much confirmed that the OnePlus 7 Pro will be sporting a triple main camera setup, with one of the sensors being a 48MP.
