The idea that lifestyle and tech brands would collaborate to create a unique product is no longer uncommon, and at times the end result could very well be surprising. So, when news that the Cup Noodle brand, Nissin, had banded together with Kingston’s HyperX division to create a pair of limited Edition Cup Noodle headphones, we were genuinely stupified.
Officially, they’re called the HyperX Cup MIX-Ins, and based on the supposed product shots, it’s pretty obvious what the shape of the earcups are. On top of that, the MIX-Ins also have a special, fork-shaped detachable microphone, known aptly as the “Microphork”. Nissin goes on to describe the headphones as being able to “cancel out all slurping sound” while still delivering “crystal-clear sound quality”.
Nissin says that the HyperX MIX-Ins will be made available on the first of next month. If you haven’t already figured it out, that’s 1 April 2019. Given its launch date, it’s likely that the headphones may miss the deadline or get pulled off the shelf unexpectedly.
On a somewhat related note, Nissin isn’t the only brand looking at a 1 April 2019 launch. Ride sharing service, Grab, recently announced that it would also be launching its new GrabFoodCopter initiative on the same date, with the goal of delivering Singaporean food to Malaysians who actually love that stuff.
