Google Play Developers Can Now Easily Reward Android Gamers For Watching Ads

Google Play recently has introduced “Rewarded Products” which a new way for developers to monetise their apps or games with official support from Google. Powered by the company’s own AdMob technology, the new method is much easier to be deployed as compared to manual implementation.

The first rewarded product offering is rewarded video, which is something that many developers out there have manually implemented into their apps and games. The modus operandi of such video is rather simple: it would reward you with in-game currency, virtual goods or other benefits in exchange for your views.

In the example shown below, users were asked whether they want to double their game score just by watching the rewarded video :

For developers out there, the new Rewarded Products format is currently available in open beta through the Google Play Console.
