SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays Merges Four Timelines; Multiplatform Release In 2019

Bandai Namco announced that SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays will be released in Southeast Asia with English text, and in 2019. Best of all, it will be available on three different platforms – PlayStation 4 (PS4), PC and the Nintendo Switch.

Unlike the previous G Generation game for the PS4, Cross Rays will feature four different Gundam universes in its signature mashing of the Gundam multiverse. The four worlds are After Colony, the timeline of Gundam Wing; Cosmic Era (Gundam SEED); Anno Domini (Gundam 00); and Post Disaster (Iron-Blooded Orphans era).

This is great news for fans of the Gundam series, which has generally not seen as great a success in its games. But with the current direction Cross Rays is taking, perhaps the next game will finally feature every unit from all the known Gundam universes. Hopefully, we’ll see a game with a roster more complete than SD Gundam G Generation Overworld, along with a story that continues wherever it left off.

But before we get too far ahead of ourselves, there’s still the issue of the Cross Rays story. Beyond its 2019 release and the three platforms, Bandai Namco has yet to announce exact details, so we’ll have to sit tight and wait for more information.
