Lazada Malaysia earlier today has unveiled a new channel on their site called LazMall. As a result, the company has now discontinued the “Official Store” classification on its platform and has provided the new “LazMall Flagship Store” label to such outlets.
However, there is more to LazMall than just a new set of branding though. As clearly stated on its landing page, Lazada has guaranteed that all products sold by LazMall merchants are 100% authentic and come with 15-day easy return policy.
Technically, these guarantees are not that hard to be fulfilled by LazMall Flagship Stores since they are managed directly by Lazada itself, principle brands, or their local distributors. Then again, there is another promise that was not mentioned on the site.
According to Lazada Seller Center, LazMall retailers should be able to provide next day delivery. However, none of the LazMall Flagship Stores that we checked which include Apple, ASUS, Huawei, Levi’s, Samsung, Tesco, and Xiaomi actually offered next day delivery. This despite the fact that some of the listings that we mentioned above are fulfilled by Lazada itself.
Hence, maybe that is the reason why Lazada didn’t highlight it. Nevertheless, it is still going to be interesting to see customers’ reaction to LazMall which has now become the centralized channel for all certified brands on Lazada Malaysia.
