Samsung Malaysia has announced an upgrade promotion to help customers upgrade to a new Samsung Galaxy flagship device next year. The Yearly Upgrade Programme (YUP) is somewhat generously named; but it does make picking up Samsung’s 2019 flagship a little easier.
The YUP promotion applies to Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ sold through Samsung stores and authorised dealers. Customers will have to top up an additional RM100 to their purchases to obtain a complimentary Samsung Protection Plan worth RM140. These customers will also then receive a one month payment waiver if the device was purchased through a 12-month installment plan.
Furthermore, the actual upgrade promotion comes with an e-certificate to buy the next Samsung Galaxy S flagship smartphone at a 10% discount. It’s important to note that this discount can only be applied between 13 and 15 months after the purchase of the promotion. Which means that it cannot be applied to pre-orders for when the Galaxy S10 is launched in early 2019.
The Samsung YUP promotion will run from today until 2 September. Although considering the time frame it might be better to buy into it sooner rather than later. Samsung has more information on how to apply for the promotion on its website.
