Dell is looking to support gamers all over the world with a rather unique community idea: the Alienware Academy. This online platform is a virtual training centre that will help gamers improve their skills, complete with help and coaching advice from pro-gamers.
At the core, it looks like the Alienware Academy is a series of tutorial videos to guide gamers on what skills are necessary to do better at gaming. Accompanying these videos are challenges to gauge skill levels and then provide additional feedback on how to improve. Players can also compare their own performance to that of pro-players in their selected games.
Gamers on laptops with Tobii Eye Tracking technology will also get the additional benefit of using the technology for heat-maps and the ability to receive statistics on where they should be looking at on the screen.
The Alienware Academy is going into a beta test this month, with Counter Strike: Global Offensive as the starting game. Academy courses are being designed with help from Team Liquid; seeing that Dell has had a long partnership with the team.
