Lenovo Z5 Announced With A Notch And 90% Screen-to-Body Ratio

The new Lenovo Z5 has been launched officially after the hints and leaks, . It is disappointing that we do not get a full-screen device. Instead, we get a notch and a 90% screen-to-body ratio.

Lenovo fitted the Z5 with a 19:9 2240 x 1080 pixel 6.2-inch display. Underneath the metal and glass design is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, a decidedly mid-range SoC. It is paired with 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. Imaging is handled by rear dual-cameras with two 16MP sensors, while the selfie is done with a single 8MP camera.

Disappointingly, the phone features two design elements not hinted in the leaks. It has a top notch for the speaker and selfie camera. On the bottom, there is a noticeable chin. This is odd as the fingerprint scanner is located at the back of the phone.

Lenovo will be shipping the Z5 in China first in Schumann Black, XLR Blue, and Aurora, the last looks like inspired by Huawei’s Twilight colour. Prices for the phone will be US$200 (RM 794) for the 64GB model and US$280 (RM 1,112) for the 128GB model. With all the hype, it is sad that all we get from Lenovo is a mid-ranger with a notch. It does look pretty though.
