It goes without saying our state of internet is a matter of concern for many users in Malaysia. Hence, it is not surprising the new Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Gobind Singh Deo has aimed to improve the internet experience in Malaysia as soon as he assumed the portfolio.

In a recent press conference, the minister has revealed that it will be meeting telecommunication companies in Malaysia to address the issue. To take place in the next two weeks, the discussion will be focusing on two matters: to double the internet speed and reduce the costs into half.

According to Gobind, the reduction of internet’s price in Malaysia will likely have an impact on telco’s financial. However, he also stated that several counter-measures have been crafted by the Ministry’s officials that might be able to sort things out.

With that, let’s hope these meetings will have fruitful outcome. By that, we mean the ability to have faster internet at a much lower price, as soon as possible.
