A post by CEO Pete Lau on the official OnePlus forums confirms that the company is actively developing its next flagship, the OnePlus 6. He says that the phone will feature the current flagship Snapdragon SoC, as well as a large amount of RAM and storage.
In the post, Lau mentioned that the company is working hard to develop the new OnePlus 6, and revealed a part of the specifications. The phone will have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Confirming several rumours that have appeared over the weeks.
Lau also said that an R&D team dedicated to maximising performance of OnePlus products has been set-up. Called Team FSE (Fast, Stable, Efficient), it is dedicated to “ensure that OnePlus devices offer the fastest, and smoothest, user experience available”.
The OnePlus 6 has been reported to feature a 19:9 screen, which suggests that it will be joining the plethora of smartphones featuring the notch on the front screen. It will also be featuring USB Type-C and 3.5mm audio port. We may see this smartphone sometime in the middle of the year, which was when the OnePlus 5 was launched.
