Western Digital Introduces Two New G-Speed Shuttle RAID Solutions

Western Digital has announced two brand new additions to its G-Speed Shuttle family of products. These are the G-Speed Shuttle with Thunderbolt 3 and G-Speed Shuttle with ev Series Bay Adapters. For those who many not be aware, Western Digital’s G-Speed Shuttle products are basically “transportable” Raid storage solutions.

The G-Speed Shuttle with Thunderbolt 3 is, as its name implies, equipped with dual Thunderbolt 3 ports. In addition, this portable Raid solution also supports up to 48TB of HDD storage, and is compatible with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10. It should be noted that the G-Speed Shuttle with Thunderbolt 3 features four storage bays. Western Digital claims that its newest Raid solution is capable of transfer speeds of up to 1000MBps.

Next up is the G-Speed Shuttle with ev Series Bay Adapters. Again, as its name implies, this portable Raid solution feature integrated ev series bay adapters, which will ensure “cross-functionality with all ev series drives and readers.” Transfer rates of the G-Speed Shuttle with ev Series Bay Adapters is rated at 500MBps. It shares most of the features that come with the G-Speed Shuttle with Thunderbolt 3 as well.

Those aside, Western Digital mentioned that both the G-Speed Shuttle with Thunderbolt 3 and G-Speed Shuttle with ev Series Bay Adapters are now available for purchase in Malaysia. Pricing for the G-Speed Shuttle with Thunderbolt 3 starts at RM8,000 (16TB) up to an eye watering price of RM15,790 (48TB). Meanwhile, the  G-Speed Shuttle with ev Series Bay Adapters is priced at RM8,350 for the 20TB variant and RM9,600 for the 24TB variant.
