Canon has revealed the Speedlite 470EX-AI Flash. The AI in the name is not for ‘artificial intelligence’; the one-of-a-kind flash incorporates the brand’s proprietary Auto Intelligent (AI) Bounce technology.
Indeed, the new flash system is designed with entry-level and enthusiast photographers in mind. Through its AI Bounce technology, the flash can automatically and intelligently determine an appropriate bounce angle when used by measuring the distance between the camera and the ceiling, and the distance between the camera and the shooting subject.
While the technology may not yet be perfect, the Speedlite 470EX-AI undeniably kicks off a new wave of intelligent flash systems.
The Speedlite 470EX-AI Flash, on the other hand, is priced at US$399.99. It is slated to be available in the US in April 2018.Thus far, there has been no mention of any worldwide launches.
