Gigabyte has unveiled its latest product in the form of a graphics card made specifically for one purpose: cryptocurrency mining. Dubbed the P104-100 4G or GV-NP104D5X-4G, Gigabyte’s newest graphics card is based off of the mining-specific Nvidia Pascal P104-100 GPU; the desktop counterpart to that GPU is the Pascal GP104, which powers both the GTX 1080 and GTX 1070.
Those aside, when it comes to specifications, the Gigabyte P104-100 4G features a base and boost clock speed of 1607MHz and 1733MHz respectively. Besides that, this graphics card is also fitted with 4GB of GDDR5X memory. Power is drawn by the P104-100 4G via a single 8-pin power connector and it also has a TDP rating of 180W to 225W.
Design-wise, the Gigabyte P104-100 4G mining graphics card looks very similar to the company’s gamer-friendly GTX 1080 WindForce. The former card retains the signature black and orange cooler shroud, but it does not come fitted with a backplate. Do keep in mind that the P104-100 4G also does not come with any video output ports – which is expected.
Unfortunately, it’s not known whether Gigabyte will bring the P104-100 4G mining graphics card to Malaysia anytime soon. What we do know, however, is that this card will only be backed with a three-month warranty period instead of the standard 12-month coverage.
