It looks like more details have surfaced regarding Intel’s upcoming processor, which will feature an AMD-based graphics solution (Vega M). The unreleased CPU in question is the Core i7-8709G, and it was first spotted by Thai YouTuber, TUM APISAK. The specifications of the aforementioned processor was seen using Futuremark SystemInfo.
Based on TUM APISAK’s findings, it can clearly be seen that the Intel Core i7-8709G CPU features four CPU cores along with eight CPU threads; which is capable of clock speeds of 3.1GHz (base) and 3.9GHz (Turbo Boost). For those who are wondering, this processor is based on the Kaby Lake CPU architecture.
Some details were also shown about the Vega M iGPU as well. According to Futuremark SystemInfo, the integrated GPU on the Core i7-8709G comes with 4GB of HBM2 memory and a 1024-bit memory bus. The base clock speed of this GPU is rated at 1.19GHz and memory runs at a cool 800MHz; boost clock speed was not mentioned, unfortunately.
Those aside, it’ll indeed be interesting to see just how well this Intel-AMD hybrid CPU will perform when it becomes available sometime in the near future. Hopefully it will be priced aptly as well. Regardless, do take all of the information above with a grain of salt for now, at least until Intel makes an official announcement.
