The Steam Autumn Sale has begun in time for Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and this time brings with it some pleasant surprises. Games that have only been out for about a month are seeing discounts as high as 50%, giving people a good opportunity to pick up these new games up for cheap.
Most notable are Evil Within 2 and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, both of which are being sold at half the regular price. Something quite impressive as the games were released in the second week of October 2017.
Also on a surprisingly early discount is Middle Earth: Shadow of War. This sequel to last year’s sleeper hit hasn’t quite received the same acclaim; instead dealing with controversy about lootboxes and micro-transactions. Still, it’s now 40% off for the duration of the Steam Sale, which is reasonable enough.
Also making a return is the Steam Awards. Visitors to the sale are asked to vote for their favourite games across 13 categories. As was the case last year, these don’t conform to the traditional “game of the year” style awards. Instead, gamers are asked to vote for awards like The “Soul Of Vitruvius” Award and The “Mom’s Spaghetti” Award.
The Steam Autumn Sale concludes at 10AM PST on 28 November; which is somewhere around 1am on 29 November for us. The winners of the Steam Awards will be announced at some time in December.
