Digi recently launched vcash, a new digital wallet service, and we got product lead Kathryn Lee to give us a quick demonstration of how it works. At the core, the digital wallet allows users to buy things using QR codes instead of using cash, similar to Chinese e-wallet services such as WeChat Pay and Alipay. It’s also capable of transferring funds between users, and even works for online payments.
Ultimately, Digi sees a future with a cashless society, and the company hopes that the low barrier of entry of vcash will eventually displace physical money.
