An Apple engineer has lost his job after his daughter made a video about the iPhone X. More specifically, she made a video about his iPhone X that went viral before the device has officially appeared in the market.
The original video has been taken down at the request of Apple, but the damage had already been done. It spent several hours trending on the Youtube front page and was seen by millions. Although, that wasn’t exactly the reason for Cupertino being forced to terminate the employment of its engineer.
Apple has some extremely restrictive rules for its employees, including restrictions on shooting videos about products. Particularly if it concerns an employee device that may contain information about future products and plans. If anything, the company was only following the word of its contract with these engineers.
There’s no need to wonder if the engineer will find somewhere else to take him in. After all, he happens to have worked on the iPhone X. A project that Apple’s competitors would love to have some insight on.
