ASRock has unveiled its newest addition to the company’s high-end motherboard lineup called the X299 OC Formula. Interestingly, ASRock has also boldly claimed that its newest motherboard is the “only motherboard in the market that is designed by a genuine overclocker, Nick Shih” – whatever that means.
Of course, being a motherboard that’s designed by a “genuine overclocker” means that ASRock’s X299 OC Formula is packed with features to cater for hardcore overclockers. These include a 13 phase CPU power design + 2 phase memory power design; hi-density power connector; an eight layer PCB and a plethora of other overclock-centric features.
When it comes to design, however, the ASRock X299 OC Formula motherboard is endowed in a black and metallic sliver colour scheme. In addition, the motherboard is also equipped with five PCIe 3.0 x16 slots; one PCIe 2.0 x2 slot; and four DDR4 DIMM slots which support frequencies of 4600MHz and above (may vary based on the CPU that’s used).
Speaking of RAMs, ASRock has stated that the X299 OC Formula will be the first motherboard in the world to support the soon-to-be-announced 4500 XMP DDR4 profile. Unfortunately, ASRock has not detailed the pricing and date of availability of its newest motherboard. Regardless, head on over to ASRock’s official website to know more about the X299 Formula OC.
