Maxis has recently upgraded its Online ID backend service, which caused all accounts on Maxis online services to be expired. The security upgrade process requires all Maxis users to update their passwords the next time they log in.
This change affects all Maxis customers who are using the MyMaxis app, have a Maxis online account, or any other Maxis online applications and services. Those required to update their passwords should already have received an SMS from Maxis about this, or have seen the request when they open the MyMaxis app or log in to their Maxis online account.
The process is rather simple and straight forward. For those who update their passwords using the MyMaxis app, you need to verify your account by keying in your Online ID as well as the ID type and number (which can be your IC or passport number).
Once that is done, Maxis will send a TAC code to the associated phone number as a second security verification. Once completed, only then will you be required to key in a new password…and you’re done.
Maxis did not mention anything regarding this move, but it appears to be a standard security upgrade on the telco’s backend services.
