Budget-Oriented 2017 Acer Swift 1 and Aspire Laptops Now Available in Malaysia

First launched at the company’s New York event few months ago, the 2017 edition of Acer Swift 1 is now available in Malaysia. Made to cater budget-oriented customers and students, this particular 13.3-inch full HD laptop is a merger between portability and affordability.

Weighing at only 1.3kg, the Swift 1 also has a thickness of 14.95mm. In terms of firepower, the laptop is running on a 2.5GHz Intel Pentium N4200 quad-core processor and is also equipped with 4GB DDR3L RAM as standard.

The Swift 1 also carries 128GB solid state drive alongside a 3-cell 42Whr battery that apparently able to provide it with up to 10 hours of battery life. Interestingly, the laptop also comes with fingerprint as a standard which allows users to utilize Windows Hello biometric security features in Windows 10.

Available in Salmon Pink, Luxury Gold, and Sparkly Silver, the Swift 1 can be obtained immediately for RM 2,199 at selected Acer retailers throughout Malaysia. At the same time, those who prefer 14 or 15-inch laptops can also opt for the new 2017 Aspire series instead. For starters, Acer Malaysia has decided to bring in Aspire 3 and Aspire 5 laptops ahead of the other models within the series.

With native resolution of 1366 x 768, Aspire 3’s 15.6-inch variant can be obtained with Intel Celeron N3350 or AMD A-Series A4-9120 processors while the 14-inch model is only available with Celeron N3350. In terms of memory, the Intel-based models are equipped with 4GB DDR3 RAM while the AMD-based unit carries 4GB of DDR4 RAM instead.

Aside from 500GB hard drive, all three variants of Aspire 3 in Malaysia also come with 37Whr 2-cell battery although their battery life vary from each other which ranging from 5.5 to 7 hours. Price-wise, the Aspire 3 starts at RM 1,339.

As for Aspire 5 which is equipped with 15.6-inch full HD display as standard, customers can choose to have it with either Intel Core i5-7200U or AMD A-Series A12-9720P processors. Intel-based unit also receives NVIDIA GeForce MX150 as its GPU while the AMD-based model comes with AMD Radeon RX 540.

Other than these differences, both variants share plenty of components with each other including 4GB DDR4 RAM, 1TB hard drive, and 48Whr 4-cell battery. The 2017 Aspire 5 laptops can also be obtained immediately through selected Acer retailers around Malaysia for RM 2,549 onwards.
