Western Digital Malaysia has announced the date of availability and pricing for its portable My Passport SDD. Interestingly, the My Passport SSD is actually the first portable SSD made by Western Digital. The company’s flamboyant portable SSD was first announced in April 2017.

According to Western Digital Malaysia, its portable My Passport SSD will be made available at select retailers and distributors starting from 7 July 2017. As mentioned in our previous article, the My Passport SSD will come in three storage capacities: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. That aside, Western Digital Malaysia has also mentioned that its portable SSD will be backed with a three-year warranty as well.

One rather interesting trait about Western Digital’s My Passport SSD is that it comes with both a USB Type-A and USB Type-C connector. This, of course, will be beneficial for consumers who switch back and forth between using different devices that have different USB standards.

That aside, when it comes to pricing, the 256GB variant of this portable SSD will come with a price tag of RM579. Besides that, the larger 512GB variant will be priced at RM1,039, while the largest 1TB variant has an eye opening price tag of RM2,099. Western Digital is also currently running a  two-week long promotion campaign with its partner, Lazada (until 6 July 2017). The promotion can be viewed here.
