Even though you can actually enjoy 4K contents through video streaming services these days, physical disc still has its place in the market. If you are one of such users that prefer 4K Blu-ray discs than 4K contents on Netflix or Amazon, you might want to look up ahead for these new internal drives by Pioneer for your PC.
Claimed to be the first of their kind in the market, your need to have a Windows 10-based machine though in order to utilize Pioneer’s new BDR-S11J-BK or BDR-S11J-X drives. Not only that, the machine must be powered by either S or H series processors from the Intel’s Kaby Lake family as well as have at least 6GB of RAM.
Furthermore, users also need to make sure that their 4K display with HDMI 2.0a port and HDCP 2.2-compilant. Aside from playing 4K Blu-ray discs, users are also able to write contents into BD-R, DVD-R, and CD-R discs using these drives.
While the pricing for either of them have yet to revealed, don’t expect them to come cheap though. At this moment, it is also not known when or if Pioneer will actually release these 4K Blu-ray internal drives outside of Japan.
