If you stayed throughout Build 2016 day 1 keynote few hours ago, then you might have noticed that intelligence is one of the key focus for the event this year. Hence, it is not surprising that Microsoft took the opportunity to also announced two new sets of artificial intelligence technologies in the form of Cognitive Services and Bot Framework.

Under the Cognitive Services, there are currently 22 APIs that developers are able to take advantage for their apps which cover vision, speech, language, knowledge and search.
While Cognitive Services APIs are meant to help apps intelligently recognize user’s need, the Bot Framework on another hand helps developers craft intelligent bots that able to interact using natural language with users. The framework itself is very flexible as it can be implemented on various channels including SMS, e-mail, Skype, web chat, and many more.
To further drive the message, there are several demonstrations that already available online which developers and users alike are able to discover what these two technologies are all about.
