Freedom 251

What can you get for RM 15 these days? Maybe a meal for yourself and a friend at a fast food restaurant or maybe prepaid reload for one to two week. In India though, you can actually purchase a smartphone for that amount.

For only INR 251 (about RM 15.27), Ringing Bell’s Freedom 251 features a 4-inch qHD (960 x 540) IPS display and running on an unnamed 1.3GHz quad-core processor. Other than that, the smartphone is also equipped with 1GB of RAM, and 8GB internal storage.

In terms of photography capability, the Freedom 251 comes with a 3.2-megapixels autofocus rear camera and 0.3-megapixels front camera. Ringing Bell also stated that the smartphone also included a built-in touchless tech for users to capture selfie. Built with 1,450 mAh battery, the phone is also pre-installed with Android Lollipop 5.1

Judging from the information above, Freedom 251 is certainly an entry-level smartphone but it is quite amazing that Ringing Bell still able to price it less than RM 20. As expected, eager consumers have immediately flooded its official website when the pre-order for the phone started this morning. Then again, we might join the crowd as well if the phone is released in Malaysia with the same price tag.
