Altec Lansing has done it. The company managed to stick a camera inside its headphones so that viewers can get to see what DJs see when they perform. There have been ideas of a product of this sort, but those ideas never came to fruition.
Altec Lansing has chosen to integrate a camera into its DVR DJ-style headphones. It’s positioned on the left ear cup of the headphones, fully capable of recording 1080p videos at 30 frames per second. Already packing 40mm audio drivers, the company has also managed to squeeze in a Wi-Fi module so that DJs can either livestream the footage to a screen, or store the video for future usage.
In terms of memory, the DVR DJ-style headphones have 8GB of internal storage, but can be expanded up to 32GB with a microSD card. What about battery life? Well, despite having all these extra hardware, the company stated that users can expect up to seven hours of usage before needing to recharge.
The Altec Lansing camera-packed DVR DJ-style headphones will be available starting Q2 of 2016, and it will go for USD$200 (approximately RM880).
