While the company didn’t release them in Malaysia, Alcatel OneTouch did launched several Windows-based smartphones before this. For 2016 though, the Hong Kong-based company has decided to come out with a Windows-based tablet instead which was announced ahead of CES 2016 that will open its doors later this week.
The company didn’t provide in-depth detail regarding the tablet though which is called Pixi 3. However, we do know that it is equipped with an 8-inch display and powered by an unspecified Qualcomm processor. It also runs on Windows 10 Mobile as opposed to the PC version of Windows 8.
Additionally, it also features front and rear cameras as well as voice-call functions, LTE, TV remote capability, and GPS. Since Alcatel OneTouch has already launched an Android-based Pixi 3 tablet in the market before, we will not be surprised if the new Windows 10 Mobile tablet shares most of its components with the older tablet.
Alongside the tablet, Alcatel OneTouch has announced the brand new Pixi 4 family of devices which consisted of a 3.5-inch and 4-inch smartphones together with 6-inch phablet, and 7-inch tablet. Again, the company didn’t reveal much information regarding these devices but just like its predecessor, these devices are aimed at entry-level market.
Last but not least, the company has also launched the CareTime children’s watch which was designed to help parents monitor their children. In addition to GPS-based tracking, parents can actually call their children or send voice messages to the IP65-certified watch.
With a battery life of up to four days, their children are able to reply through the watch but only to pre-approved contacts. Scheduled for release in Europe and Latin America in April this year, the CareTime children’s watch apparently comes with simplified user interface as well since it is meant for children from the age of five to nine years old.
Since all the information above is rather rudimentary, we expect more will be revealed by Alcatel OneTouch once CES 2016 is officially opened on 6 January. So, keep a look for them once the time comes.
