One of Acer’s many, many new laptops and convertibles introduced back at IFA 2016 is now in Malaysia: the Swift 3. Although this laptop is the most affordable product in the series, it’s still a compelling Windows machine, especially for those who are always on the go.
What makes the Swift 3 appealing is the fact that it’s a slim and light laptop. Weighing 1.5kg with a 17.95mm thin chassis, we imagine the Swift 3 wouldn’t be very troublesome to be brought around a college campus or from one business meeting to another. On top of that, there’s sufficient power under its hood as well.

Oddly enough, the Swift 3 – unlike the flagship Swift 7 – does not ship with a seventh generation Intel processor. Instead, it’s equipped with a Skylake-based Intel Core i5-6200U processor, which is still a very capable chip. Other than that, the Swift 3 does not come with a dedicated GPU, which isn’t a surprise considering the thin form factor of the laptop.
Rounding out the specifications of the Swift 3 are a 14-inch 1920 x 1080 display, 4GB of DDR4 RAM, 256GB of fast SSD storage, up to 10 hours of battery life, a USB Type-C port, as well as a fingerprint sensor. This laptop also has an all-aluminium chassis, which should give the Swift 3 a premium look and feel.
The Acer Swift 3 is now available for purchase in Malaysia at selected Acer resellers nationwide. Retailing at RM2,899, the Swift 3 is available in two colours: Sparkly Silver and Luxury Gold. Take note that the latter colour will only be available exclusively through Lazada Malaysia this November.
