It looks like Maxis finally has a competitor to its Zerolution smartphone upgrade service. Digi has just announced EasyUp, an all-in-one postpaid plan that allows subscribers to upgrade their smartphones annually.

EasyUp is essentially a new 24-month plan from Digi. The plan is set at a fixed price of RM198 per month, and comes with 20GB of data, unlimited calls and texts, unlimited WhatsApp and WeChat use, 15GB of data for music streaming, 100GB of cloud storage on Capture, and of course, a brand new smartphone every 12 months.

Currently, the option is only limited to two devices: the Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016), and the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge, though users would need to pay an additional RM70 per month for the S7 edge.

Those who sign up for EasyUp will also be required to subscribe to Mobisure, Digi’s device protection partner. Its packages in price based on the value of the device, but it offers insurance against a variety of risks, including liquid damage or theft.

Currently, Digi EasyUp is only available for sign up in five locations around the country.
