Apple Reduces Prices of All iPad in Malaysia, Increases Base Storage to 32GB

Just like with the new iPhone 7, Apple is upgrading all base models of the iPad to 32GB. In addition, various iPad models have also seen a price decrease in Malaysia.

Because iPhones and iPads do not offer expandable storage, the increase in the base model is actually quite a significant – and overdue – move from Apple. That said, it is surprising to note that the upgrade applies even to older iPads that the company currently sells in Malaysia.

The iPad mini 2, iPad mini 4, and the iPad Air 2 have all seen their base model storage doubled to 32GB. Meanwhile, the 64GB options for the iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 4 have been removed. The iPad Pro 9.7 and 12.9 both already feature 32GB base models, so there is no difference there.

On top of the upgraded storage, selected models across the iPad range have also seen a price drop. The following table shows the new prices of the current range of iPads sold in Malaysia:
